The National Elections Commission is an independent, statutory mandated institution set up to oversee and arrange:
- Presidential, Parliamentary, Local Council Elections and National Referendums
- Conduct voter registration
- Declare election results
- Educate voters
- Resolve electoral conflicts and disputes
It acts in accordance with the Presidential and Local Councils Election Law (Act No: 20/2001) andwith other mandates stipulated in other laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and procedures.
